Paris is where ballet and the waltz got its real attention, some say where it was created, by the upper clases. This was the pride of the Court of King Louis XIV. This was also the establishment of the oldest Ballet schools and company-Le Paris Opera. At one time he actually performed Le'Ballet de France. Waltz and Ballet ever since had a co-artistic relationship in which one is showy and the other is social.
